22 year old girl who isn't quite sure what God has planned for her! :) I love shoes, purses, photography, dogs, horses, flying, traveling, running, cheese, pineapple, coffee, peanut butter toast, carrots, singing, candles and flowers. I earned a B.S. Business Administration back in May and I am considering going back to school next year to get my Masters! I'm from Charleston, SC and I have lived there my whole life. A new job in a new BIG city has taken me to St.Petersburg, FL and I can't wait to see what God has there for me! I am blessed with an amazing family and amazing friends and I couldn't ask for more love and support! Welcome to my blog! Hope you stick around and enjoy the roller coaster ride with me!
I noticed an i-reports on CNN today and it was about writing a list of things to do before you die in honor of Dave Freeman who died unexpectantly at the age of 47. Freeman wrote the book "100 things to do before you die." So in honor of Dave and myself I decided the write my own "Bucket List" of things that I want/hope/and pray to do before God calls me home. Enjoy :)
I loved the movie "The Bucket List" and ever since then I have been thinking about the things that I want to do before I die. I am only 22 years old so I have a long life ahead of me (I pray). So here is what I would love to do (in no particular order):
1-Graduate from College (Did this May 2008) 2-Earn my Master's Degree 3-Swim with dolphins 4-Travel to Italy, Greece and Spain 5-Have 3-5 children 6-Marry the love of my life (Will do on November 8, 2008) 7-Ski in Colorado 8-See the Grand Canyon 9-Own a Golden Retreiver named Shadow or Isabella 10-Become a professional photographer 11-Grow old with my husband 12-Go on an African Safari 13-See my grand children 14-Run a marathon 15-Learn how to cook like my mom 16-Learn to be more confident and less critical of myself 17-Build a better relationship with God 18-Meet Keith Urban 19-Ride an elephant 20-Have a lasting impact on people's lives
Wish me luck everyone! I encourage you all to take some time to write out a list of things you want to do. It'll make you feel good :) Also I posted earlier today too, so check that out below!
Mary over at Owlhaven posted tips on Frozen Ginger on her blog yesterday and so I thought that I would post what Works for Me today. I'm not a very big cooker, although I think that I will be soon because I am getting married, but there is an old trick that has been used in my family for quite some time.
How many of you bake cookies and either later in the day or the next day the cookies are hard? Well if you have this problem all you need to do is take 2 pieces of regular white bread and place it in the bag/container that you put your baked cookies in. The cookies extract the moisture and softness of the bread and leave the bread hard while your cookies are super soft and moist! Give it a try and see for yourself because "It Works For Me!"
Hey everyone! Sorry that I went a little hiatus for about a week. David came into town on Thursday and we had a fun filled action packed 5 days! We met with Reverend Clarke, Jill our wedding coordinator, went camping and got our marriage license. We had such a great time! It always hard to say good-bye but we did ok this time. This time was probably the easiest because the wedding is getting so close and we have so much stuff that needs to get done.
Going back to work was ok. I came home and was going to run but instead I decided to tackle my room and clean it up, pack some things and get rid of alot of "junk"! 3 hours later I am finally able to sit down and relax and enjoy the rest of the evening. It feels so good to get things accomplished. I've been procrastinating so bad lately.....but now that time is running thin I got to get a move on.
Well I just wanted to update all on David's trip. I am going to post a few pictures of his stay. Hope you all enjoy. Dont forget to keep tracking my photoblog! I am posting everyday, or at least trying to! hehe...night all!
Ok so I was reading a fellow blogger's blog, Mary over at Owlhaven.net the other day and she wrote a post about how many pictures you have on your computer. She's always posting really cool stuff about all kinds of different things so I followed her directions and took a look to see how many pictures I have on my hard drive. For those of you who don't know me I always have a camera in my hand...everywhere I go....on whatever occasion. I usually take anywhere from 200-300 pictures at each event that I go to. Yes I know C-R-A-Z-Y but that's just how much I love photography! So does anyone want to guess at how many I have? I'm going to go ahead and tell you all because I can hardly believe it myself....
....it's not 1,000.....it's not 3,000.....it's not 5,000.....it's not 8,000...... it's a whopping 13,675 photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I about hit the floor when I saw that! My mom couldn't believe it. So I had to share with you all! I doubt anyone out there can beat me and if you can please let me know. I'm thinking Michelle can beat me....but who knows! I can't wait to hear from you all! Good Night
*If you want to know how to do this all you have to do is right click on My Pictures and click on properties and it will tell you how many files you have in "My Pictures"
PS...David's plane lands tomorrow at 12:30pm!! We have a ton of wedding stuff to do, so you guys may not be hearing from me for a couple of days!! :)
Since today is my 22nd birthday I just thought that I would post a cute little survey about me! I found it on a fellow blogger's blog and thought it would be cute and appropriate for the day! I hope everyone enjoys their day today. I know that I will! :)
How it works:1. Post the rules of the game at the beginning.2. Each player answers questions about themselves3. At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and post their names, then goes to their blogs and leave them a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read the players blog.4. Let the person who tagged you know when you've posted your answers!

It's Friday!!! Yahoooooo!! :) This week went by surprisingly quick...imagine that! It doesn't seem like Friday at all. I have an action packed weekend ahead of me. Tomorrow I am taking my good friend's kids for half the day so that he can clean his house (he's a single dad of two) and prepare the party decorations for his little girl's birthday party tomorrow. I originally planned on taking them to the park and then to see Wall-E (looks cute...anyone know?) but I drove past the Fair Grounds today and Animal Planet is going to be there tomorrow with tons of animals! I think that they would really enjoy that so we may just do that, skip the park and still head over to the movies....or maybe there then the park...who knows. I will let them decide. I am up for whatever they want to do! :) Sunday is my best friend's engagement party! Congrats Crystal and Rob! :) Somewhere between all of this I will do my daily running. I am getting really good at it and I'm really starting to see improvements as well as receive compliments :) Make me feel like what I'm doing is working. It's great motivation! I want to get an Odometer (?) to put around my ankle to see how far I'm actually going. I estimate that it's anywhere between 2-3 miles total? Who knows....I do know that when I started it took me about 45 minutes to run/walk the whole thing, now I am run/walking the entire route in about 30 minutes...whic means...that I am running more! Hard work pays off! And THAT is why I enojoyed a Snicker today....hey hey now....the vending machine guy gave it to me so what else was I suppose to do with it?? ;) Anyway...I'm not sure that I'll have time to post this weekend but I hope that everyone enjoys the weekend!!! Make sure to continue to check out my Project 365 Photos at http://www.photoblog.com/Schafer11082008/....thanks!! :)

Hey! For those of you who don't know my 22nd birthday is next Tuesday! YAY! I can't believe that I am almost 22 years old...it honestly completely blows my mind. So to celebrate with my best friends we went out to dinner at Olive Garden then we went out to a club, Club H2O this past Saturday. We had a blast! :) I will post some pictures below (above)!! Enjoy! :)
On Friday I had a dermatologist appointment in the AM and I had to get two more moles removed (yay) and I have 5 stitches in my back where one of them was taken off. I should get my results back next Monday when I go to get my stitches out. Please pray for it to be ok. For those of you who do not know my history, about 1.5 years ago I went in for my very first dermatologist appointment. I went in because I had two moles on my hand and usually those are considered to be suspicious because the sun doesn’t shine on that part of your body. Anyway, I noticed a weird looking mole on the back of my calf that had recently popped up. My doctor took one look at it and decided that we needed to get it taken off. She said that it would be fine but we just wanted to make sure. Well, 4 days later I get a phone call that changed my life forever. The mole was Melanoma In-Situ. I can’t even begin to explain how I felt at that moment when I heard those words. The only thing I could think of at the time was Oh My Gosh…I have CANCER and I am 20 years old!!! And the only person I knew who had cancer before was my grandfather and he passed away with it. I was so scared! Luckily it was in an early stage and I had to have surgery on my leg to make sure it was all removed. It took a while for my leg to heal and I now have a scar the size of a quarter on my leg (no complaints though!)
About 4 months ago I had a spot that appeared back on my leg in the same exact area. I went to the dermatologist again and she took a look at it and decided that it needed to come off. So we did another biopsy and it came back with “pre-cancerous cells.” The confusing thing about it this time was that when cancer comes back it usually comes back in a different form….and the cells of this biopsy had that different “look” so they went ahead and did another surgery as a means of “preventative treatment.” I was in the hospital and the hole was grafted so that my leg would look somewhat “pretty.” It took it about 2 months to heal and for those of you who remember I walked around with a wrap on my leg for weeks! It was horrible and I looked hilarious! :)
Since then I have had about 5 moles biopsied (I have to go every 3 months) and they all have been fine. I am waiting to hear back on 2 of those…so please PRAY!
Every time I look at my scar I wonder what could have happened to me if I didn’t go to the doctor….if I didn’t have that mole taken off. It scares me to this day and gives me chills to think about what could have been. I am so thankful for my doctors and my family/friends that supported me through all of this. I was fortunate to catch mine early on and for that I will always be grateful! Thank the Lord!
I was never one to sit around and soak myself is tanning oil and try to get a tan. I have always been a fair skinned blonde hair blue-eyed girl who wore the big baggy t-shirts (thanks Mom!) and one piece bathing suits. I hated it when I was little but now I have more appreciation for it. I never thought that something like this would happen to me. I was only a child when I got this cancer!! I cannot stress the importance of sun screen. Please please please get your skin checked regularly especially if you spend a lot of time in the sun. It doesn’t matter what kind of complexion you have or how preventative you have been your whole life. It can happen to anyone. Cancer is cancer….some far worse than others…..but I beat it and if it comes back again I will beat it again!!! :)
Hey everyone....not to much to update here today. I don't really feel up to writing anything. I had a nice weekend and I'm up to a total loss of 6 pounds! I gave in and couldn't wait until Monday (today).....but isn't that great?! Maybe I'll feel like writing more tomorrow.
